In our recent History of F1 feature there were one of two details that were not strictly accurate. The title F1 was originally owned by OMC, but when they hit financial problems they gave the title to former OMC racer Gary Garbrecht. At no stage did the UIM ever own the title, and even today, F1 is owned by Nicolo di San Germano who has fought a successful long and costly court battle with F1 motor racing supremo Bernie Eccelstone to retain ownership of the F1 name.
We listed all the venues we thought had hosted World F1 meetings, but we missed a few – the full list is – Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Switzerland, Italy, France, Great Britain, Germany, India, Singapore, Latvia, Southern Ireland, UAE, Qatar, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, and America, South Africa, Austria, Hungary, Canada.
