The only action we have seen over the last three days has been flags flapping in gales force winds, that was until today (Sunday) where organizers planned to make today wall to wall action. Free practice at 9.00am followed by qualifying and the GP of Portico at 1.00pm.
Victory’s Shaun Torrente set the early pace and never eased off. Francesco Cantando was a comfortable second until he barrel-rolled and Torrente’s Victory team mate Ahmed Al Hameli was close behind until he crashed into a pontoon while trying to line-up the straightaway in front of the pits. It was a serious crash but the Abu Dhabi pilot walked away unhurt.
There was several breakdown so we will have to wait until 1.00pm to see who lines up but the top six in qualifying is Torrente, (Al Hameli but will not start) Erik Stark, Philippe Chiappe, Alex Carella and Duarte Benavente.
