ROUND BRITAIN 2008

Two Fabio Buzzi boats  – one won the Round Britain Race in 2008, and the ‘Red FPT’ (x ‘Cesca’) driven by Buzzi himself hit the rocks before reaching the start line.  Greek entry – ‘Blue FPT’ was the overall winner on corrected time 67.94 mph for the whole race.  Driven by Vassilis Pateras and navigated by Britain’s Dag Pike who at 75 years old was the oldest competitor in race

A Message from the Organiser Mike Lloyd
To all 47 race teams and 30 organising staff who took part in and supported  the Round Britain Race in 2008 – we will be raising a glass or two today in memory of that amazing time we all had NINE years ago today – and to absent friends who were with us then but who have since left us.
At the time we called it “The Greatest Offshore Powerboat Race of the 21st Century “, and it was and it will probably remain so.
We hope to put together a re-union party for the tenth anniversary next year, that’s if I can get someone to help organise it!
More on that later.
My best regards to you all.
Mike Lloyd
