Joe Sgro, Principal of Outerlimits Powerboats, lost his life following a crash during the Miami to Key West Poker Run. Reports indicate Sgro’s 50 foot canopied monohull rolled over at speed, and while the other four occupants of the craft escaped injury, Sgro suffered serious injury. He was airlifted to hospital, but during the journey his condition deteriorated and he passed away in hospital.
Sgro was a very popular individual in high performance powerboat circles, and only last week Drew Langdon’s Outerlimits ‘Silverline’ set a new world speed record on Lake Coniston. Our condolences go out to all his family and friends.
